THE WHITBY STEEL HAWKS SLEDGE HOCKEY TEAM |
SPONSORSHIPDEAR POTENTIAL SPONSOR, We, The Whitby & District Sledge Hockey Association (Whitby Steel Hawks), would like to thank you for your interest in our main fundraising event this year. Our non-profit organization is unique in that it provides disabled and able bodied players of varying ages the opportunity to play a varied form of hockey (sledge hockey). We feel that our sport provides a unique opportunity for members of our community to have a lot of fun together despite varying levels of physical abilities. As you can imagine, our specialized equipment must be custom fitted for each participant. At present, a sledge costs between $400.00 - $800.00, depending on the complexity of the adjustments and the sticks, which are supplied by the team and need to be upgraded on a regular basis, cost between $20.00 - $40.00, per pair. Tournaments take up alot of our financial resources as they are generally held outside of the Toronto area. Recent tournaments attended by the Whitby Steel Hawks were hosted by the City of London. Even though we have been invited to places as far away as Edmonton (Alberta), participating in such distant events remain a dream for our players. This year, our team is one of six selected to represent our province at the 2006 Paralympic Winter Championships to be held in Huntsville, Ontario We are seeking your generous sponsorship in the fasion that best meets your ability. We realize that cash donations are not always feasible and would welcome other forms of contributions (e.g. items or services that could be included in draws, auctions or door prises at our fund raising events). Be assured that we would warmly accept and we would gratefully acknowledge any such donations. Our upcoming Pub Night is an event which provides us with an opportunity to distribute prizes and publicly display the generosity of our sponsors. If you have questions, suggestions or would like to discuss how you can contribute to our association please feel free to contact us.
